【摘要】:Inorganicfibrousthermalinsulationcancontainvaryingamountsofnon-fibrousmaterial.Non-fibrousmaterialdoesnotcontributetotheinsulatingvalueoftheinsulationandthereforeaprocedurefordeterminingthatamountisdesirable.Severalspecificationsrefertoshotcontentandpercent(%)retainedonvariousscreensizesdeterminedbythistestmethod.1.1Thistestmethodcoversaprocedurefordeterminingthenon-fibrouscontent(shot)ofman-maderockandslagmineralfiberinsulation.Theprocedurecoversadrysieveanalysismethodtodistinguishbetweenfiberizedandnon-fiberized(shot)portionsofaspecimenofman-maderockandslagmineralfiberinsulationspecimen.1.2Thistestmethoddoesnotapplytorockorslagmaterialscontaininganycomponentsotherthanrockandslagmineralfiberandorganicthermalsettingbinders.Productscontainingothertypesoffibers,inorganicbinders,orrefractoryclaysareexcluded.1.3Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
