【摘要】:ThistestmethodprovidesameansofverifyinginstrumentalignmentinordertoquantifyandminimizesystematicexperimentalerrorinX-raydiffractionresidualstressmeasurement.ThismethodissuitableforapplicationtoconventionaldiffractometersortoX-raydiffractioninstrumentationofeitherthedivergingorparallelbeamtypes.3,4Applicationofthistestmethodrequirestheuseofaflatspecimenofstress-freematerialthatproducesdiffractionintheangularregionofthediffractionpeaktobeusedforstressmeasurement.Thespecimenmustbesufficientlyfine-grainedsothatlargenumbersofindividualcrystalscontributetothediffractionpeakproduced.Thecrystalsmustprovideintensediffractionatallanglesoftilt,x03C8;,whichwillbeemployed(seeNote1).Note18212;Completefreedomfrompreferredorientationinthestressfreespecimenis,however,notcriticalintheapplicationofthetechnique.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthepreparationanduseofaflatstress-freetestspecimenforthepurposeofcheckingthesystematicerrorcausedbyinstrumentmisalignmentorsamplepositioninginX-raydiffractionresidualstressmeasurement,orboth.1.2ThistestmethodisapplicabletoapparatusintendedforX-raydiffractionmacroscopicresidualstressmeasurementinpolycrystallinesamplesemployingmeasurementofadiffractionpeakpositioninthehigh-backreflectionregion,andinwhichthe,2,androtationaxescanbemadetocoincide(see).1.3Thistestmethoddescribestheuseofironpowderwhichhasbeeninvestigatedinround-robinstudiesforthepurposeofverifyingthealignmentofinstrumentationintendedforstressmeasurementinferriticormartensiticsteels.Toverifyinstrumentalignmentpriortostressmeasurementinotheralloys,basemetalpowderhavingthesamecrystalstructureasthealloyshouldbepreparedinsimilarfashionandusedtocheckinstrumentalignmentattheappropriatediffractionangle.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
